Summerween is coming! 3 ways to prepare.

Summerween is coming! 3 ways to prepare.

#1 👻Dust off those spooky books and movies.

If you're in the northern hemisphere like me, it may be too hot to snuggle up with your favorite people for scary books and movies. But it is Summerween, so it's perfectly acceptable to read poolside, on your favorite porch swing, or on a blanket in the grass with your favorite summer beverage - spooky lemonade anyone? Get those books and movies ready to go so you can dive right in to Summerween coziness.

Bonus: set up a projector outside and throw a spooky movie night! This is perfect because it works for ghouls of any age, whether you have kids or not.

#2 🎃Prepare for decor!

While you're gathering the books and movies, grab some decorations. You don't have to go all out (although that is perfectly acceptable), but you can grab some of your favorites and blend them with summer decor. Tiki torches and fairy lights can be especially spooky in my opinion. If you have the space, light a bonfire (these can be fun to dance around! Just be cautious, of course).

Bonus: Host a costume party for your favorite ghouls. Since it will most likely be warm, we won't have to cover our costumes with coats (I suppose only my northern friends will relate to this)!

#3 🦇Craft spooky treats.

Put a Halloween spin on your favorite summer treats. By planning your menu now, you'll have everything ready. Mummy hotdogs (use crescent rolls to wrap the hotdog), spooky popsicles (they have eyes!?), and maybe some monster punch. A quick Google search, and you'll find plenty of options!

Bonus: Get inspired by Gravity Falls and carve a Jack-O-Melon out of a watermelon!

Extra Cat Bonus: Order some Halloween toys and treats for your feline friends! Stores may not have them in stock, but they're likely available online. But beware: with a flavor called "Tasty Human" Temptations may be tempting your cat to see how you taste! 😂

However you decide to celebrate, I hope you have a magical and memorable Summerween!
